Hedgerow Cranesbill –geranium pyrenaicum – grows best in the shade of woodlands and hedgerows but can also be grown in full sun. In woodland gardens it is useful for providing cover and continuous colour into the summer months, after other woodland plants are over. Plants can be grown on most soils and are useful for brightening up otherwise dull areas in mid-summer. Hedgerow Cranesbill can grow to about 2 foot high and has delightful purple pink flowers from June to August. Hedgerow Cranesbill works best growing en masse with other hedgerow wild flowers such as Herb Robert, Wood Avens, Nettle leaved Bellflowers and various meadow grasses that will provide support. An alternative name for Hedgerow Cranesbill is Mountain Cranesbill.

How to grow Hedgerow Cranesbill Seeds
Hedgerow Cranes bill seeds should be sown in spring or autumn, outside, where they are to flower, or in seed trays and covered lightly with compost. The seedlings can then be pricked out and grown on, for planting out later in the year.
