Sheepsbit Scabious -jasione montana – is most commonly found on dry acid soils and often grows near the coast, where it will tolerate drought well. In gardens it can be grow on gravel paths or rockeries and will provide useful ground cover for insects. Sheepsbit Scabious is a low growing plant with blue flowers that appear from May to August. It looks best alongside other native plants that grow well on sandy soils such as Tormentil, Common Toadflax, Thrift, Lady’s Bedstraw, and Heather.
