Overall these Meadow mixes consist of 20% Native Wildflower seed and 80% Meadow grass. This is a well-proven ratio, which has been tried and tested down the years in many different situations. The inclusion of meadow grass seeds acts as a weed barrier and enables the meadow to be cut and kept tidy outside the flowering period. Each mix contains a wide variety of species blended to provide a well-balanced and cost effective combination. A range of CORNFIELD ANNUAL MIXTURES for quick and easy flowering. Our standard and special mixtures can be sown alone or together with our perennial mixtures as a "nurse" crop, which has the added advantage of reducing maintenance in the first season. Unlike perennial wildflowers, cornfield mixtures do not require especially poor soils and when sown alone, often grow and flower best on rich soils. Cornfield annuals should not be sown into established grass. For stunning colour variations in the first summer following sowing, cornfield annuals can be supplied ready mixed in a variety of ways.
